Spooktastic BookFair 2026
Lacey, WA
What a spooktastic time!
This event was the very first hosted by Cascadia Authors Guild and it was such a great event! Learn more about them here.
We rolled up at 23 Kitchens and I was surprised to see how expansive our setup was. Of course, I saw the map ahead of time, but it didn’t do the space justice. There were two full lanes of booths in three layers. At the center of it all were pickleball courts and a restaurant that served you outside. So fun! My husband was most excited about the tap setup there. You can fill the glass and it will show you how much you’re spending as it fills. Portion control?
My mom also joined which was fun! I love having the opportunity to utilize her designer brain when it comes to table layout and sorting out where to put all the goodies. (Say, hi, mom!)
So how did I do?
Well not great to be honest haha I learned the hard way that my 10×10 booth was actually 8×8 but the legs kind of angled out to 10’! Terrible when you’re trying to attach 10’ canopy walls…
That aside, I think this was one of the best table layouts so far. I also was surprised (and excited) so learn that my charm bookmarks are pretty popular. I swear I’m starting to sell just as many of those as I am books! My new standalone alien romance, Sugar & Venom, will be released on November 1st and I’m hoping that changes the vibe a bit. It’s so hard to ask people to start reading an incomplete series! I get it. No judgement or shame for that whatsoever.
Did I learn anything this time around?
Nope. These events just get better and better every time. I’m chomping at the bit to have more quick-grab books available for future events, but all I can do about that for now is write, write, write!
